I'm Jonah Sheridan. I coordinate dispatch and scheduling for a moving and storage company in Des Moines, Iowa, which means my whole workday is spent figuring out how long it actually takes to load a truck versus how long a customer swears it'll take. I bring that same instinct home. I time how long a game takes to set up and put away, not because I'm precious about it, just because that number tells you a lot about whether something's actually going to hit the table on a Tuesday. Most nights it's two players at my kitchen table, sometimes my nephew when he's over, and I read on the couch after, whatever's next in the stack, no real order to it. I started writing these down because I kept forgetting what I actually thought about something a few weeks after finishing it, and because I spend enough of my day looking at a screen that I wanted somewhere to put the parts of my life that happen without one.
